How much of where graduates go can this panel actually see?

The question. Of the employers that hire from the programme, what share appear anywhere in the job-postings panel?

Withheld

The measurement is not trustworthy yet and the range is too wide to publish. Exact normalised name matching finds 100 of 791 employers (12.6%), covering 20.7% of placements. A looser prefix match finds 94.6%, but inspection shows it matching panel company values like "X", "Proof", "Bloom" and, in one case, an ASCII-art banner stored in the company field, so it is measuring noise. The true figure lies somewhere between and the gap is far too large to report. Settling it needs the employer resolution already begun in core.employer_canonical, applied to placement employers, plus repair of the company field where Hacker News and Arbeitnow rows carry a description or a page title instead of an employer name.

This analysis is listed rather than hidden so that a reader can tell the difference between a question we are not answering yet and one we never asked.

How it was computed

Normalised employer-name matching between core.placement_canonical and the panel's company field, attempted 2026-09-13.

How to read it

The question matters because PROVENANCE_CAVEAT rests its central limitation on the answer: that the panel describes what employers ask for and not where graduates go. A defensible number here would put a figure on that limitation instead of asserting it.
